A network of Halestorm fans dedicated to helping the band get the radio airplay they deserve.

We get off on getting "I Get Off" on the air; refusing to play "Love Bites" could come back and bite you on the ass.

Joe Hottinger pointed it out, and according to my research, it’s true: Halestorm is the first musical act ever to simultaneously have:
the number one active rock single in the United States, and
a frontperson with two X chromosomes.
In other words, “Love Bites (So Do I)” has officially made rock history: it’s the first single by a female-fronted band ever to top the active rock chart!

Loudwire: The Guys of Halestorm Talk Band’s New Album, Mass Chaos + More

Halestorm are heating up the charts with their latest single ‘Love Bites (So Do I)’ off of their new album ‘The Strange Case Of…‘ Loudwire had the opportunity to briefly chat with to the men of Halestorm recently, and they discussed the new disc and their run on the Mass Chaos Tour with Godsmack and Staind.
While frontwoman Lzzy Hale gets most of the press in the band — heck, we interviewed her recently — this time we got to hear from guitarist Joe Hottinger, bassist Josh Smith and drummer Arejay Hale. They all shared their “elation” about touring with Godsmack and Staind, plus they talked about how recording the new album was a truly fun experience after touring for three years in promotion of their debut disc.

Check out this GREAT audio interview Halestorm did with WMMR’s Jaxon, in which they talk about The Strange Case of…, their individual musical influences, the girl who inspired “Rock Show,” and what Joe Hottinger listens to during his “time of the month” (yes, that seriously comes up)!

The other day, this video was posted, in which Lzzy and Arejay Hale talk about the tracks on Halestorm’s Hello, It’s Mz. Hyde EP. If you listen closely while they’re discussing “Rock Show” (starting at about 1:40), you can hear background music that’s definitely Halestorm, but definitely NOT “Rock Show” or any other song we’ve heard from the band so far.

Today, the mighty Joe Hottinger himself confirmed which song it is! Sort of. Really, all he said was that it’s one of the first nine tracks on the album. But that narrows things down some.

  1. “Love Bites (So Do I)” — We know what that sounds like. It sounds like awesome. It also sounds like a top ten hit, hint hint, call your local station.
  2. “Mz. Hyde” — This is probably the one. A recent review on Metalholic.com described that one by saying, “On ‘Mz. Hyde,’ the band takes us in with a crunchy rolling lick. An atmospheric backdrop sets the stage as Lzzy sings of the darkness within her. Heavy riffage and swagger that recalls Avenged Sevenfold with a Stray Cats pre-chorus.” On top of that, of all the songs on the album, that one makes the most sense for a Hello, It’s Mz. Hyde-based interview, and it’s the closest thing The Strange Case Of… has to a title track.
  3. “I Miss The Misery” — It’s also possible this is the song we’re hearing. Metalholic called it “a hard-boiled modern rocker full of swing.” Maybe, but it seems less likely than “Mz. Hyde.”
  4. “Freak Like Me” — No, that sounds totally different. Though the drums you hear while the “Rock Show” title card is up are definitely from the intro to “Freak.”
  5. “Beautiful With You” — Nope, that’s a softer, more melodic one.
  6. “In Your Room” — See #5.
  7. “Break In” — See #6. Also, that one is all piano and vocals.
  8. “Rock Show” — You’d think they’d play that for this part, but they don’t. Go figure.
  9. “Daughters Of Darkness” — We know that one already too.

Joe did technically eliminate “You Call Me A Bitch Like It’s A Bad Thing” from contention.

Either way, we’ve now technically heard parts of what’s probably Mz. Hyde. So… yeah.

Think your local station won’t play your request for Halestorm? Maybe you’re right, but that’s still a defeatist attitude that I want nothing to do with. So CALL NOW and get “Love Bites (So Do I)” into the top 10 where it belongs!

Did you know that Halestorm’s music prevents gypsy curses? It’s true — ever since I started requesting “Love Bites (So Do I),” I haven’t been turned into a toad even once!

It’s not like you to not call your local rock station and request Halestorm’s “Love Bites (So Do I).” Are you feeling okay? You’re not mad at me, are you?
